Using these soaps is so meaningful to me because the art of soap making in Palestine is a skill that dates back hundreds of years. Cosmetic products on the market often use animal testing, synthetic and harmful ingredients that hurt the environment and our bodies, but this is not the case with Palestinian soaps. Instead of being packaged in plastic, they are simply wrapped in paper, which I love. It’s wonderful that I can purchase these products from a cooperative which to me means that worker solidarity is foundational instead of worker exploitation and corporate greed. These soaps keep my skin clean and supple, a huge benefit from the olive oil used in the recipes. I recommend these soaps to everyone because they work with every skin type.
