Al-Zaytoon holds the title of oldest operational soap factory, producing over four hundred varieties of soaps and cosmetics. Al-Zaytoon, established 1611, is a family soap factory whose roots are deeply entrenched within the Nabulsi soap making tradition.
All products are Eco Certified Organic and Halal, containing the highest percentage possible, 82%, of ingredients found on the certified organic ingredients list.
For the last four hundred years, local soapmakers and producers have called upon the Tbeleh family to facilitate the highly specialized process of cutting soap. This is further demonstrated by the locals referring to the Expert Soap Cutter position as the "Tbeleh guy."
I started purchasing this soap after discovering what I used to use was manufactured by a company on on the BDS list. This Palestinian olive oil soap has now become a staple in my home: it’s gentle on my skin, long‑lasting, and carries the added meaning of supporting Palestinian farmers and traditional craft.
The bar lathers great and cleans without stripping natural oils. The olive‑oil content makes the soap noticeably moisturizing, leaving skin soft after rinsing.
By purchasing this soap one also helps sustain Palestinian producers working under occupation and economic pressure so not only is this a skincare choice but also an act of solidarity with Palestine.
