The Nablus Textile Company is one of only two scarf-producing factories in Palestine. Founded in 1950 by the al-Nabulsi family, the Nablus Textile Company was the first producer of Palestinian kufiyas before becoming the manufacturer of uniforms for school-age kids in Nablus. They began to make kufiyas again in 2023.

An Iconic Design

The kufiya's design represents Palestinians' connection to their land. It is embroidered with three patterns:

• Sailors' fishnets in the Mediterranean Sea

• Leaves of ancient, resilient olive trees

• Bold lines representing historic trade routes passing through the Crossroads region, crucial for cultural and economic exchange between continents
