These towels are hand-loomed in Bursa, Turkey from organic cotton and linen grown in the İzmir region. İzmir's climate and soil conditions contribute to the material's softness, absorbency, and durability. The towels will become increasingly soft over time.
The Hammam towel, also known as a "peshtemal," refers to a towel that wraps around the waist. Measuring 3.2 feet by 6 feet they are as large as a beach towel, and have a great variety of uses.
Each design is made one by one, or in very small batches. Thus most designs have a stock of only one!
I love these soaps. I've given some as gifts, but kept most for myself. :) So many artisinal skills are being lost to mass production. I am happy to support these small businesses and wish them and their families good health and safety.
I have used it for a few weeks now and it does it job. My skin isn't dried out from it. I am still on the first bar. So, its long lasting. There isn't a strong smell to it. Just a nice clean soup that lasts and doesnt dry out your skin yet still cleans you nicely.
