Al-Ard is a third-generation family-run Palestinian grocery company. In addition to soap, they are known for their imported olive oil, grains, and spice blends. Al-Ard, worka in relatively small batches and are connected with many local small producers, their olive oil is often among the very best.

The cooperative's equipment is all stainless steel and run electrically, compared with other brands which use gas or wood burning furnaces to cook their soap. Al-Ard's main market is in northern Palestine, in the areas around Nazareth and Jenin.

The newest of the Nablus soap brands, Al-Ard was founded in 2008 in order to provide local farmers with modern facilities and a global customer base. The Anabtawi family with deep roots in Nablus manages the production of this soap.

Ingredients

All the Nablus soap brands we sell are cooked in the traditional style out of olive oil, water, and soda, resulting in a soda-less bar of pure saponified olive oil.

Dimensions

Depends on the particular batch, but bars for all brands we carry usually measure about 2 x 3 x 3 inches and weigh 5 ounces on average.

Care Instructions

Olive oil soap gets better with age. Keep them in a dry place for an increasingly olive-tan colored, dense, sudsy, and less soap-smelling bar. They can be aged even faster in a sunny window.

Excellent soap

The soap is excellent Skin feels clean, fresh, and soft after continued use. It doesn't foam like most soaps but the end result is a much better feeling!

As pure and gentle as you can get

Since my local specialty market hasn't been able to source the traditional, pure olive oil soap the last years, I am so appreciative that the Cooperative has managed to supply those who live in the USA.

This is our soap for baby to all ages. I buy Al'Ard, Emu and all the others to support this vital industry. We use the olive oil soap for face and body, no additional lotions or potions needed. Just let our skin and biology do the rest.

I would highly recommend a soap magnet to suspend the soap, but quality ones are very hard to find. The last magnets we bought in Germany years ago. We do attach them to the wall above baths and all the sinks with screws, and they have last for decades.
